Mike Brain will detail the national and regional context in which Low Carbon Partnerships are being set up.
Chris Hickey from the Cheltenham Low Carbon Partnership will give an outline of why and how the partnership was set up, and outline its achievements. Jim Lee and Simon Graham will explain why they joined the Cheltenham Low Carbon Partnership and what business
Benefits it has bought them.
Seminar participants will discuss how to set up a Low Carbon Partnership and the logistics involved. There will be ample opportunity for questions and answers.
The seminar is part of the county work on reducing per capita CO2 emissions under National Indicator NI 186 ( Per capita reduction in CO2 emissions in the LA area). Business sector emissions represented 42% of total Gloucestershire CO2 emissions in 2006 and the sector is a priority for the Gloucestershire NI 186 Delivery Plan. The seminar is being organised by the NI 186 Business Sector Delivery Group which is seeking to
· Promote Low Carbon Partnerships (LCPs) on a district level
· Develop awareness of, and commitment to tackling climate change amongst
business executives and representatives
· Encourage the establishment of carbon management plans for businesses
· Seek funds to provide training for energy managers in business
· Establish a shared CO2 reduction target for district Low Carbon Partnerships
